How To Persist and WIN Even When You Don’t Feel Like It

I am having one of those days myself today.

I have a cold, I feel awful and really don’t feel like creating content.

We all get them…

…it’s life

It happens to everybody.

However – It’s what YOU DO when you don’t feel like doing something, that makes the difference.

It’s how you react

…what you do about it

That is what makes the real difference.

If you persist, even when you do not feel like it, then you are a sure winner.

Why do I say that?

It means you are in control, you are not letting your feelings get in the way of what is needed to be done.

You have persisted against the obstacles

You will achieve a lot more in life if you can learn and apply this skill.

By persisting when you don’t feel like it, not only do you get stuff done, but you will also become unstoppable when you DO feel like getting stuff done.

You will always look at obstacles or challenges as a simple thing you need to deal with or navigate.

My tips on how to persist and win when you’re really not feeling up to it

Act immediately without stopping to think about it.

Rather than considering and deliberating and over-thinking it, just take immediate action and get the momentum going. I find that once I have the momentum going, my feeling of not wanting to do something subsides, they pass and ultimately I feel a lot better for forging ahead.

When inspiration hits act right away

I have a cold and wasn’t feeling like creating today’s Podcast episode and I was thinking to myself – “I really don’t feel like doing this today“.

I was looking at leaving things to tomorrow to get it done. Then all of a sudden I had the thought and inspiration that this would be a good subject idea for a blog post and podcast episode.

I Immediately turned on my microphone, hit record and that was me in motion before I could talk myself out of it. I HAD to keep going!

So once I stopped editing my podcast episode, I immediately created this blog post and associated image.

So by the end of it, I created a full podcast episode and blog post for my site. I created my content on time for my podcast and I now feel a LOT better for doing so…

Look at your reason WHY

Why are you doing what you do?

What is your all consuming goal or passion?

If you can focus on this, then you will be able to see why it is important for you to get stuff done.

By focusing on your WHY, you will find It can help to realign your focus and be the trigger to getting you going again.

Look at where you have come from

I look back and I have created a podcast episode every week for the last 27 weeks.

This is week 28, and I am darn sure I will be creating an episode.

I can look at my journey to this point and know that it has taken work, dedication and a lot of energy to get here.

I also can now reference where I am from where I began compared to where I wish to go. I can see the journey and the steps ahead of me. I have got back on the path and got moving again.

Learn to embrace those days

Understand we all get them, Each and every entrepreneur will have moments, days or weeks of feeling like this.

If you know this is going to happen, then you will understand what it is whenever it hits.

You will also know that you must learn to forge ahead to succeed.

Get out into nature

I find when I am really struggling, I may need to get out into nature.

I get my earphones on and go out for a brisk walk.

This can take up to one hour.

In this time I can enjoy nature, switch off, let my mind wander…

Once I get home I am generally in motion and I can continue this over into my online business.

I generally come home with ideas and get started with them right away

Set Triggers for Momentum Even When You Don’t Feel Like It

We are all different

my solutions may not work for you

but what I do advise you to do is look at what triggers you can use to get you going again.

What is it gets you over the ‘don’t feel like it’ feeling?

Whatever it is, then look to use this and grow your skill of persisting.

You will find you become unstoppable, with momentum, a force and hard to stop…

I would love to hear your triggers. Leave me your comments and feedback on what it is that gets you moving again even when you do not feel like it…
