Well in this video and blog post I am going to clear that up for you and I am also giving you a template that you can use and work from in order to get your channel banners looking perfect on every device.
So, what are your correct image dimensions for YouTube channel banners?
In pixels it is 2560 pixels by 1440 pixels – and whilst this is the correct and also the recommended size, I also want to let you into the secret here that many may not know.
Whilst this is the correct size for televisions, and it is the correct size you need to begin ALL of your channel banners with before you do any design work.
Each device however is going to render and display your channel banner image differently due to the screen sizes, shapes and even app sizes.
So to get them looking correctly on each device you have a few guidelines you need to follow.
as you can see here on the screen I am inside Photoshop and I have mapped out the key sizes and areas for you to work within.
If you imagine each of these sizes are like a frame or letterbox and if you contain your artwork within these guides and sizes, then everything will look correct on each device.
